I am very excited to return to Highland Creek Elementary School where the "Character Academic Rigor Embracing Students " for the 2021-2020 school year! I appreciate the opportunity to enrich the lives of all students through the Visual Arts. I am looking forward to a great year and have many wonderful art projects planned that I know you will enjoy!
I was born in Argentina and when I was in second grade, my family moved to the United States and made a home in Miami, Florida. Growing up in South Florida was fun and I loved spending time with my family and friends especially at the beach! As I was growing up, I enjoyed all of my classes at school, especially ART! Once I finished High School, I attended Florida International University where I graduated with a Bachelor and a Masters degree in Art Education. I taught art in Miami for seven years.
In 2006, I relocated to Charlotte and became a teacher with CMS. I taught ART at J.H. Gunn Elementary for two years, seven years at Highland Creek Elementary School and three years at Ridge Road Middle. I am married and have two energetic and wonderful Golden Retrievers named Kelly and Sabrina who keeps us busy! I'm very thankful for my great mentors and teachers who help me to become the art educator I am today. My greatest inspiration and motivation over twenty years teaching Art continues to be YOU - the students!
